On the 22nd September 2026, the University of Évora hosted the final Portuguese workshop presenting results from PilotSTRATEGY and its twin initiative, the CETP-funded CTS project.
The event brought together representatives from industry, public authorities, research institutions and civil society to discuss the potential role of CCS in Portugal’s decarbonisation.
Presentations covered the proposed offshore CO₂ storage pilot near Figueira da Foz and options for a national CO₂ transport and storage infrastructure.
The discussion addressed the technical, environmental, social, regulatory and financial conditions for moving towards implementation.
